Go Africa LLC is pleased to announce the addition of Mr. Edward Kofi Osei, to our Executive Board of Directors with immediate effect. It is our good fortune to have an individual of Osei’s caliber join us in leading Go Africa successfully into the future. We are very pleased that he has accepted our offer to join our Executive Board.
Moving forward, Go Africa LLC and Go Africa Trading will face some unique and motivating challenges. The assurance that we will overcome these challenges is strengthened by the kind of leadership qualities our Executive Board members possess. Collectively, the balance of experience and education on our executive board will serve to propel us well into the future with good momentum.
Mr. Edward Kofi Osei, is currently the Director of Tema Port in Ghana and has 35 years of professional experience in Corporate America inclusive of 5 Master’s Degrees.
- Edward Kofi Osei started work as the Director of the Ghana’s largest Port, the Port of Tema in April 2017 after been appointed by the President of the Republic, His Excellency Nana Akufo-Addo to oversee the largest Port in Ghana.
- Since manning affairs at the Tema Port, the revenue of the Port of Tema increased by 24% in 2017 while turnaround time of vessels improved by 20%. And Under his leadership cargo throughput also increased from 14 million tons in 2017 to 16 million tons in 2018.
- Mr. Osei was a Partner at the law firm of Osei & Nelson in New Jersey and taught Corporate Law, Contracts and Taxation at Widener University. Before that, Mr. Osei worked in Senior Management positions at Astra Zeneca, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Pepsi Cola and Kodak.
- Mr. Osei has a BSc in Business Administration from University of Ghana and five master’s Degrees; International Business Management -Baylor University, International Affairs – Yale, MBA -Stanford, Juris Doctor of Law -Temple University, Philadelphia and LLM in Taxation – New York University Law school.
The Tema Port In Ghana has also become the most attractive Port for Ghana’s landlocked countries of Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger which led to an increase in Transit Trade by 23.8% in 2017.
During his tenure, Edward Osei facilitated an Increase in equipment and spare parts acquisition for the daily operational activities of the Port of Tema and significantly empowered staff and management to know and understand their customer requirements and how to satisfy clients of the Port and Port users alike.
